Evaluating Whether a Project Requires
Precision Fabrication

Not every fabrication project requires precision-level process control. Parts that install with field-adjustable connections, bolt to slotted holes, or overlap with generous margins can often be produced to standard shop tolerances at lower cost. Precision fabrication is appropriate when the part interfaces with mating components that leave no room for dimensional adjustment during assembly.

CMV Fabrication evaluates tolerance requirements during the quoting process and advises buyers on whether a project genuinely needs precision control or whether standard fabrication will produce a functionally equivalent result. That assessment helps keep costs appropriate to what the application actually demands. Buyers who are unsure about their tolerance requirements can send their drawings to CMV Fabrication for a review and recommendation.
