Laser Cut Versus Engraved Personalization on a
Fire Pit

Laser cutting and engraving produce different visual effects on a personalized fire pit, and the choice depends on what the customer wants the design to do. Laser cutting removes material entirely, creating openings in the steel that let firelight pass through. The result is dramatic at night and visible from a distance. Engraving scores the surface without cutting through, producing a detailed mark that is visible up close but does not affect the structure of the wall.

CMV Fabrication offers both methods and can combine them on a single fire pit. A common approach is laser-cut artwork on the side panels with an engraved name or date on the rim. The customer decides which technique suits each element of the design, and CMV produces the piece accordingly.
