Powder coating produces a finish that outperforms liquid paint in chip resistance, corrosion protection, UV stability, and overall service life. The cured polymer film is harder than dried paint, more resistant to impact damage, and less prone to fading under prolonged sun exposure. Coverage uniformity is also superior because the electrostatic application wraps the powder around part geometry that spray paint tends to coat unevenly.
The finish does not run, drip, or sag during application the way wet paint can, which eliminates the surface defects that sometimes require rework in painted finishes. For parts that will be installed outdoors, used in corrosive environments, or expected to maintain their appearance over an extended service life, powder coating is the more reliable finishing method. CMV Fabrication uses powder coating as its standard metal finishing process for these reasons.
