CNC laser cutting runs from a vector file that defines the cut paths. CMV Fabrication accepts standard CAD formats including DXF and DWG, and can work from PDF drawings or even hand sketches when a production-ready file does not yet exist. The cutting file is generated from whatever the customer provides.
Design details that affect cut quality include minimum feature size, spacing between cut lines, and tab placement for parts that need to stay connected to the sheet during cutting. CMV Fabrication reviews each file for manufacturability before cutting and flags any features that may not hold up at the specified material and thickness.
